Not even the ides of September and Candidate Symington takes a huge lead in the race for Moonbat of the month.
The Moonbat Madam calls for $3.5 million over the first five years, 66% to come out of private donors (your pockets) and the other 34% from the state. Plus she stated no new revenues would be needed! That’s a whopper of an understatement. Tax collections going to the general fund are 11% below projections just set in July, not only won’t there be any new revenues, it appears as if there won’t be as many old ones either.
The breakdown is $47,600 per annum to the state for this “Bridge to Opportunity” when Vermont needs bridges to Lower Plains Rd in East Middlebury, Bridge St. in Richmond, 116 in Bristol, Rte. 2 in Middlesex, and that decrepit one on Rte. 125 in East Middlebury. That is by no means a definitive list. If it weren’t for foreign aid (the Feds), the old adage, “Ya can’t hardly git there from here” would be true.
Mz. Symington, there aren’t qualified employees here because anyone with a brain and skills escaped the high taxes and low wages long ago. The businesses soon will follow.
One final question, who says private donors will give to this scheme in the amount you project? Does the state make up the difference if your guess is wrong?
