Just a momentary lapse of judgment

News reports decry more deaths from alcohol and speed, attempting to elude and teenage booze parties. As usual, the blame is misplaced; inanimate objects cannot cause harms.
Placing the blame on the alcohol and speed shields the relatives, parents and friends from secondary responsibility and removes the individual from immediate accountability for personal actions. Sensitivity to the moment, Hmmm yes, never mind he was an idiot and now he’s dead.
Don’t put on the death certificate “accidental death.” The precipitate cause of death is terminal stupidity.
Alcohol and speed are not causes; that’s the same as blaming the ground for suicidal death by leaping from heights.
Now the crosses and flowers go up, they were swell guys, tributes to them.
The real message should be they were idiots to get in that car with that loser, a 28 year-old individual with a record of having done this before. Place this memorial sign on the tree, here’s what stupidity gets you, live and learn. Or you don’t live long.

Police only identified the people inside the car as a 21-year-old man from Burlington, a 20-year-old man from Winooski, two 18-year-old women from Burlington, an 18-year-old man from Burlington, an 18-year-old man from South Burlington and a 17-year-old girl from Colchester.

The driver of the other car needs to file a lawsuit against the parents of everyone in the vehicle for parental non-feasance as least, the owners of the house where the party took place and the attendees for good measure. (Get their parents on the hook too) Ask for 10 or 15 bucks shy of what Paulson demanded for the bailout.
As for the clown driving, put two in his hat and toss him in the lime pit. Don’t even waste time setting his legs; he’s not worth salvage.
