California should take a page out of Vermont’s book and raise taxes.
The citizens still have money left for food and housing, so the Legislature is remiss in helping the needy and the children. Evidently, companies are still in business, there’s another large source of revenue.
Raise fees. Raise hell.

Would you do work for CA. and bill them? Tell them front the money. Let them make the tough calls. They need to quickly throw up a confiscatory exit tax to keep those liberals that caused this mess from escaping without losing their shirts.
Vermont is facing shortfalls in the budget, $90M this year and $225M next. There is just 650,000 bodies in the state. So where are they going to get the money? Not the income tax, jobs are disappearing faster than fleas off a dead dog. Those jobs are gone, the companies closed or moved.
The fools are telling each other we cannot cut but a little, what taxes can we raise. Gasoline, another penny on the sales tax, oh hell lets just seize the corporate and resident bank accounts.

Larger and more expansive government, intruding into your life, telling you how to live, what kind of car to drive and what light bulb you may use is the goal.
