Officials: 80 Percent Of Recent NYC High School Graduates Cannot Read

It’s an education bombshell.

Nearly 80 percent of New York City high school graduates need to relearn basic skills before they can enter the City University’s community college system.

The number of kids behind the 8-ball is the highest in years, CBS 2′s Marcia Kramer reported Thursday.

When they graduated from city high schools, students in a special remedial program at the Borough of Manhattan Community College couldn’t make the grade. [snip]

In sheer numbers it means that nearly 11,000 kids who got diplomas from city high schools needed remedial courses to re-learn the basics. [snip]

There’s much good news in this report.

  1. The students have no trouble identifying real guns from pop tarts. None of them do a drive by using pop tarts thanks to progressive education.
  2. Many of the mentioned individuals are losing weight by indulging in vigorous sexual activity during school hours. Anecdotal reports say students enjoy this more than gym: Extra benefit, no gym uniforms.

The weight loss through Bloomberg’s diet program will continue beyond school. Only the greats can achieve such recognition.

  • Their unemployable condition continues weight loss after graduation.
  • Weight loss by recreational drugs also has a great future; there’s a good possibility for of high wage employment in field sales and pyramid marketing.

Great job Nanny Bloomberg; let us add the superb efforts you exhibited in the aftermath of Storm Sandy.
