Political Speak

Oh, the horror of it all. Children being ripped from the arms of their mothers, to be separated and held in secure cages. Who could be so callous to think about doing this much less even thinking about such an act.

To commit so heinous a deed has to be the product of a fevered mind and to do this at gun point… damn! . Yet, our Government performed in this manner.

Where and how? HERE!

You remember Elian Gonzales, having one of those black guns, loaded no doubt with plenty of death dealing munitions. Ask yourself, who could do such a thing? The answer is of course: Progressives.
While we discuss such atrocities, how about warehousing illegal children in substandard conditions. We’re afraid it was the American Government. We can consider that this administration isn’t guilty of the following images.

Here Are Horrifying Photos Of Obama’s Illegal

Alien Facilities The Media Refuses To Show You

The media and political class become more and more outraged over the Trump administration’s decision to detain and prosecute immigrants illegally crossing the border.

Lost in the debate is any acknowledgement that President Obama’s administration also used detention facilities. [snip]

Photos of border detention facilities from the Obama-era, taken during 2014, look nearly identical to the ones taken during the Trump era.

You never see them, however. Here they are, taken in 2014 during a media tour of an Obama-era detention facilities in Brownsville, Texas, and Nogales, Arizona. [snip]

As the Daily Caller previously reported, “Obama administration prosecuted nearly 500,000 illegal immigrants between FY 2010-FY2016. They referred 1/5 of illegals for prosecution, which often resulted in family separations.”

Here’s the idiot who claims Trump’s separating families is not law. Wonder what this Bimbo said when Obama set this up?

Biased Agendas

A spark of sanity from one Democrat in an otherwise darkness of clabbering Jackass insanity. It was soon extinguished.

Hard Reality: No Mainstream Gun Control Law Would Have Stopped the Texas High School Horror

Virginia Democratic Senator Mark Warner told CNN’s State of the Union that he doesn’t think “there’s a single piece of legislation” that could have prevented last week’s horrible killing at a Texas high school, adding that a more holistic “series of actions” are needed.  His other nod to reality was acknowledging, after being prodded by host Jake Tapper, that Democrats failed to act on gun control when they controlled all three elected levers of power in Washington, DC during the Obama years. “Perhaps, in retrospect, more should have been done,” he said, amid various evasions and excuses.

Warner — who has moved to the left with the rest of his party on guns — also mentioned background checks and “military-style assault weapons” in the interview, each of which is irrelevant to the latest incident.  The Texas killer was not legally permitted to own guns, and used more traditional (i.e., not an “assault rifle”) firearms during a rampage that left ten people dead.  Nevertheless, these facts, which Warner at least partially recognizes, didn’t stop one of his colleagues from Connecticut from unleashing his preferred brand of demagogic post-tragedy moral indignation:

Chris Murphy (Dolt) CT tweeted: Let’s call it like it is: the horrifying inaction of Congress, slaughter after slaughter, has become a green light to would-be shooters, who pervert silence into endorsement.

I’m left unclear as to what exactly Murphy is talking about. As the New York Times has confirmed, the shooter in Texas used a shotgun and a .38-caliber revolver — and nothing else besides. Moreover, because he was 17-years-old, he was ineligible to purchase a gun either privately or commercially, and thus had no contact with NICS background-check system that Murphy wants to expand. What, precisely, did “Congress” fail to do here?
What perverted signal did it send? What “endorsement” did it provide? … As for the implication that is embedded in Murphy’s tweet — namely, that declining to prohibit a given tool is in some way an endorsement of those who would abuse it — well, I can think of few more destructive ideas in a free country. Was Thurgood Marshall sending a “green light” to the KKK when he voted with the majority in Brandenburg v. Ohio? Are the many opponents of the Patriot Act offering an “endorsement” to the devotees of Jihad? Hardly. By suggesting that his opponents disagree with him because they are happy to “allow” massacres, rather than because they think that his proposals (such as they are) will be useless, Murphy is seriously damaging our debate over guns, and hurting our political culture.

“As far as I can see, there are only two reasonable ways to interpret this behavior: 1) That Senator Murphy is a grandstander who does not understand this issue well enough to do anything but shout “do something!” whenever he sees an abomination on the news; or 2) That Senator Murphy actually does want to ban shotguns and revolvers and everything else besides — and, by extension, that he wants to repeal the Second Amendment to the Constitution in order to get it done.”  Which is it, Senator?  This is why so many gun rights supporters view the gun control movement’s loudest voices as peddling in ignorance or dishonesty.  Take this tweet, for instance, which was shared thousands of times: [snip]

“I am a Bimbo, hear me roar!”, says one anti gun Hollywierd Actress Alyssa Milano who declared her aversion to guns while surrounded by armed security. Damn, the raw courage of these people.

Hollywood actress attends anti-gun protest — with armed guards

Do as Hollywood celebrities say, not as they do.

Actress Alyssa Milano attended an anti-NRA protest in downtown Dallas today — and she did it surrounded by armed guards.

n video captured by Ben Howe, NRA member Will Haraway asked Milano’s security if he was armed and the man clearly wasn’t amused by the question.

“I’m going to ask you to leave,” the guard said repeatedly, physically backing Haraway up by getting in his face.

“How far do I have to go?” Haraway asked.

“I’m going to need you on the sidewalk,” the agent responded.

“Hypocrite! Alyssa you’re a hypocrite! You have armed security here!” an observer yelled.

Milano’s friends, meanwhile, had no problem denouncing guns while benefiting from her special protected status. [snip]

This is the Left’s idea of gun control.
We control the guns; we control you.

Political Speak

When dealing with a Progressive newsie/writer, never forget that everything is viewed through a political lens and torqued to a certain angle to deliver “The Agenda”.

Liberal Writer: Donations To Hockey Team Crash Victims Are High Because Of White Privilege

What In The Fresh Hell Is This? Actually, no—who the hell thinks like this. First, here’s some backstory to this awful tragedy. On April 6, the bus carrying the Humboldt Broncos, a Junior League Hockey team, and a truck crashed in Armley, Saskatchewan. Sixteen people were killed (via NYT):

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is investigating the crash, which has reverberated throughout the country, especially in rural communities where hockey is the glue binding people together. The bus had been chartered by the team, the Broncos, based in Humboldt, about 100 miles away.

[…]

The crash, which also injured 13 people, occurred at about 5 p.m. The skies were clear, and the highway free of snow and ice. For the truck driver, the sun was directly ahead as he headed west on Highway 335. But at that time of day, it is still relatively high in the sky.

“People are asking: ‘Is this a really dangerous intersection?’” said Art Lalonde, a farmer who is the top elected official of this small rural municipality. “Well, it’s not. You can see for miles and it’s absolutely straight.”

At the spot where Highway 335 crosses over Highway 35, the remains of the truck and bus have been taken away. But the air was pungent with the odor of diesel fuel and churned-up earth covered with peat moss, the truck’s cargo.

A GoFundMe page that was established to take donations reached $4 million in two days (via USA Today): [snip]

Well, the victims were mostly white and male, so this is somehow problematic. For one Quebec-based writer, who described herself as a writer, activist, and a “happy socialist,” the enormity of the donations and the speed in which they were collected was a sign of white privilege. Thanks to our friends at Twitchy for catching this bout of absolute insanity. Nora Loreto tweeted, “I’m trying to not get cynical about what is a totally devastating tragedy but the maleness, the youthfulness and the whiteness of the victims are, of course, playing a significant role.”

So, in other words, I’m not trying to be cynical and terrible, but allow me to act that way because I just need to push a total garbage talking point from the progressive cesspool. People died. Families are shattered, but let’s talk about white privilege? [snip]

These people, progressives, don’t care about your pain or loss; they care about the narrative. They care about the action item that needs to be accomplished. They care about the agenda that needs to be disseminated. They will make you care. There’s not Switzerland in their debates, all much choose a side. And after all of this, not all of the victims are male. The 16th fatality was the trainer, 25-year-old Dayna Brons, who succumbed to her injuries yesterday. So, we can all admit and agree that this was a terrible rabbit hole to go down? First, it’s not true. Second, this tragedy has sent shockwaves through Canada. It’s just an abjectly stupid hot take to throw out there.

Even in tragedies where politics is absent, the Left makes it political. And therefore, they poison what should be a moment for unity and grief. Instead, we get ‘hey, I’m sorry your kid is dead, but there are other dead kids too.’ What an a**hole remark to make.

Facebook and Good Friday

Idiot’s Corner

We, as taxpayers, have been looking at this problem of school shootings all wrong. The idea that the Government has or will find the solution to the problem is in error from the start. The Government is the problem; it doesn’t contain the solution.

The purported ‘solution’ offered by the government is always money. Not theirs, yours since they don’t have any of their own. Of course all items needed are put out to bid, obtained at the cheapest price, unless one of the contractors happens to be the brother-in-law of someone in the chain of the project office. Someone in that office is in charge of disbursing, squandering and laundering funds. Think money isn’t involved?

Help Me Keep Our Nation’s Children Safe

[snip] For many students, school is a place of structure and stability. It’s a place where our country’s future leaders are learning to read and do math, studying to get into college and cultivating life-long friendships. However, schools have now become a place of fear, uncertainty, and ultimately, a target for the darkest and most morally depraved individuals. Sadly, our unprotected schools have become targets for unruly terrorists.

My bill, H.R. 5107, will immediately provide the resources and funding necessary to secure our schools. The welfare and safety of our nation’s youth must be of the utmost importance. This legislation will authorize the Secretary of Education to create a grant program in order to provide local schools with the necessary funding to improve security.

Under this legislation, schools may apply for a grant from the Department of Education in order to conduct an independent security assessment. The results of this assessment will recommend improvements that would be eligible for funding from a Department grant. Necessary improvements might include metal detectors, steel doors, bulletproof glass, emergency training and additional law enforcement on the ground. Final decisions on the needs of each school will be made by local school leadership. [snip]

None of these items stop someone from attempting to shoot up a “Gun Free Zone”. All sound nice, look good on paper and make terrific sound bites for TV viewer consumption.
One item they were showing on TV was a ballistic door that will stop large caliber rounds: 30.06, .308, 7.62mm .338, 30.30 and such. They didn’t bother with such puny rounds like the .223 (5.56mm) .243 and .25 cal family.
This is one pricey door. A cost per unit given was $8000 apiece sans buck and hardware. whether that will be the eventual cost, who knows; space toilets were cheaper.

How many of you know how a door is installed into a wall and basic wall construction is a commercial building but it is simple. Vertical metal jack studs to a header making an opening for the door buck (metal). The jack studs are attached to king studs which go from the sole plate to the rafter support and are tied off. 2X4’s are inserted into these to stiffen them since metal studs flex easily. Wall construction is metal stud usually 3½” (can be 5½”) 24″ on center and sheetrocked with ½” or if called for firecode which is 5?8″ one one side. The thickness of the wall is 4½” to possibly 4 5?8″.

Question needing answers:

  • Given the cost of the door,  what is the efficacy of the sheetrock wall in stopping bullets?
  • If there are 50 doors per school at the given cost per door, how many weapons could a school afford to arm faculty and staff and hire full time security?
  • In HR 5107 schools apply to the Dept of Education “in order to conduct an independent security assessment.” Why bother if  final decisions are made by local schools.
  • Since there isn’t any Constitutional provision for the Dept of Education, why not abolish it and put that overview back to the States.
  • There are over 20,000 restrictions, Federal, state and local, placed on the Second Amendment of which not one has prevented a shooting in any “Gun Free Zone”. Perhaps it is time to repeal most of them and see if that has an effect on mass shootings.

International

One might think that a man of the cloth would be above mixing politics and religion. Another reincarnation of Cardinal Richelieu.
The Robes of this Office are redolent of  the Hammer and Sickle. It seems that the chief Poobah of the Vatican, the Pontiff Plenipotentiary believes that the Churches’ minions need to be disarmed. They have no reason for owning guns.
Turn the other cheek when confronted with malice aforethought. Since I have only two cheeks there is a short limit to my tolerance.

Then again we find as usual, it is the “Do as I say, not as I do.” pig effluvia  spouted from those living a heavily guarded life.

May I inquire of the readers, “How many Swiss Guards have you at your beck and call?”
And the Church wants your money too.
