All the crew had to do was open a cabin door and toss this schmuck out onto the grass, then call the Society of Quivering, Sensitive Liberal Rescuers to get him before he reached ambient temperature. Meanwhile, other passengers could have been on their way with only a minor delay.

Passenger’s overdose forces plane back to gate at JFK

A plane that was about to depart Kennedy Airport for Florida was forced to return to the gate Wednesday when a 24-year-old man overdosed on heroin and anxiety medication, officials said.

The JetBlue plane was on the taxiway and about to take off when the man, who lives in Bethpage, Long Island, started foaming at the mouth around 10:50 p.m.

The flight returned to the terminal and was boarded by Port Authority cops Eric Stern and Sean Pomerantz, who found the distressed man floating in and out of consciousness.

The man also appeared confused and was having trouble breathing, officials said.

The officers determined the man was under the influence of heroin and anti-anxiety pills and administered a dose of Narcan, a drug that reverses the effects of an overdose.

The man’s condition improved and he was rushed to Jamaica Hospital for treatment, officials said.

An epidemic of stupidity

Stupidity cannot be cured with money, or through education, or by legislation. Stupidity is not a sin, the victim can’t help being stupid. But stupidity is the only universal capital crime; the sentence is death, there is no appeal, and execution is carried out automatically and without pity.

Opioid Deaths: Another Drug War Failure

Illicit drug use is an old phenomenon, and Jeff Sessions has an old solution: take off the gloves. “We have too much of a tolerance for drug use,” the attorney general complained to an audience of law enforcement officials Wednesday, promising more aggressive policing. “Our nation needs to say clearly once again that using drugs is bad,” he declared. “It will destroy your life.”

That claim will fall on a lot of deaf ears among the 100 million Americans who have used marijuana — most of whom found it did not destroy their lives and some of whom found it made their lives better.

He is right, though, that tolerance is rampant. A Gallup Poll last year showed that 60 percent of Americans think pot should be legalized for recreational use — as eight states and the District of Columbia have done. Medical marijuana is allowed in 28 states and D.C. But in his prepared remarks, Sessions insisted cannabis is “only slightly less awful” than heroin. [snip]

What we are dealing with is the liberal idea that whatever one wants to do is fine, it’s your body and society has nothing to say about it. That’s an idiotic idea; toss a stone into a pond and those ripples impinge upon everything in and bordering the pond.

People often use opioids to relieve pain. But “individuals with chronic pain and their medical providers may be opting to treat pain entirely or in part with medical marijuana, in states where this is legal,” said Johns Hopkins University professor Colleen Barry, the lead author. Sessions made a point of commenting on this unwelcome scientific data: “Give me a break.”

He paid lip service to “treatment and prevention,” but don’t expect much there. The Affordable Care Act, which the Trump administration and congressional Republicans have vowed to repeal, has been “the largest expansion of drug treatment in U.S. history,” according to Stanford University psychiatry professor Keith Humphreys. If they have their way, we can expect the largest contraction of drug treatment in U.S. history.

Promoting treatment goes against the approach long preferred by hard-line politicians. The most effective remedy for opioid addiction is medication-assisted treatment, or MAT, with drugs like methadone and buprenorphine. But if you’d like to stop shooting heroin, you may search in vain for help. [snip]

Zealous drug warriors bridle at anything except prohibition and abstinence. Closing down “pill mills,” where physicians allegedly over-prescribe opioids, is a favorite option. Such lifesaving measures as facilitating access to sterile syringes and naloxone, which is used to reverse overdoses before they kill, are inherently suspect.

The criminalization of opioid use often has fatal consequences, because it leaves addicts to obtain supplies from street dealers rather than pharmacists. The drugs they get may be surreptitiously laced with fentanyl or other synthetic opioids that are cheaper than prescription meds but much more potent — raising the overdose risk.

Crackdowns have other unhealthy side effects. “When the police shut down a local pill mill, they rarely identify the users and help them get treatment, and heroin and fentanyl dealers are quick to move in to exploit the new business opportunity,” writes New York University professor Mark A.R. Kleiman in the March/April issue of Foreign Affairs. “In 2014, deaths from overdosing on prescription opioids fell, but deaths from fentanyl overdoses almost doubled.” [snip]

If these bungholes want help getting off their jones, let them go back to the person that stuck the gun in their ear and said “TAKE THE DRUGS! STICK THAT SPIKE IN YOUR ARM! They’re the ones to ask for succor.

Frankly, I don’t care if you die. You’re not doing society anything worth a damn.

As for the rope smokers, if you can’t live except by altering your reality, excellent. Stay in your basement, get rid of your driver’s license and smoke your self to death.

Those of you that believe smoking the dope doesn’t impair you, Colorado traffic accidents and fatalities say otherwise. Since becoming legal, the number of traffic accidents involving potheads have gone up markedly, and death involving dope have increased too. In fact, Colorado has considered repealing the dope law.

Marijuana DOES cause schizophrenia and triggers heart attacks, experts say in landmark study that slams most of the drug’s medical benefits as ‘unproven’

Marijuana does raise the risk of getting schizophrenia and triggers heart attacks, according to the most significant study on the drug’s effects to date.

A federal advisory panel admitted cannabis can almost certainly ease chronic pain, and might help some people sleep.

But it dismisses most of the drug’s other supposedly ‘medical benefits’ as unproven.

Crucially, the researchers concluded there is not enough research to say whether marijuana effectively treats epilepsy – one of the most widely-recognized reasons for cannabis prescriptions.

The report also casts doubt on using cannabis to treat cancers, irritable bowel syndrome, or certain symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, or helping people beat addictions. [snip]

Police Charge Student For Threat Made At Arundel High School

The Anne Arundel County Police Department has charged a 14-year-old girl with a juvenile citation for sending a threatening tweet related to Arundel High School.

Police began their investigation after Arundel High School officials told them about a suspicious Twitter account.

The account, named @KoolkidsKlanKkk, reportedly sent out a tweet that read, “We’re planning to attack tomorrow”.

This account used similar language to a racial petition that had been passed around Anne Arundel High School by the “Kool Kids Klan”.

Police worked with Twitter, and were able to identify the person who created the account and sent out the threatening tweet.

That person has been identified as a 14-year-old African American female who attends Arundel High School.

Authorities interviewed the girl while she was with her parents, and police say she admitted to creating the Twitter account and sending the threatening tweet.

She was charged with a juvenile citation for disruption of school activities and released to her parents.

“It makes me really upset. I can’t believe that students would write something like that,” said parent Michelle Fitzurka.

“I kind of felt unsafe at the school and a little hurt,” said Taylor Nash, a freshman at Arundel High.

The school district said all the students involved in that incident were disciplined, but the students were not identified, and to complicate an already tense situation, Wednesday night hundreds showed up for a meeting at the school, but some parents still had questions.

“That is not good enough. What’s going to happen with the students that are still here?”said parent Tamara Hannah.

“The federal law prohibits me from telling you exactly what the consequences were. But I will say to you that the school acted swiftly, they acted aggressively and they administered appropriated disciplinary action,” said Bob Mosier, chief communications officer of Anne Arundel Public Schools.

As parents left the school, there’s hope the community will begin to heal.

“I am very confident that Ms. Davenport and the staff at the school is going to do everything they can to keep all of our children safe,” said parent Sheri Paris.

“I just hope that we can all come together, not just here at the school, but as a society,” said parent Lisa Smith. [snip]

12-year-old boy demands chicken nugget at gunpoint, classmate refuses

A 12-year-old boy allegedly pulled a gun on a classmate and demanded she give him a chicken nugget earlier this week, NYPD officials said.

It was his second attempt to get a chicken nugget from the girl, police said. The boy noticed the girl buy chicken McNuggets at a Lexington Avenue and East 103rd Street McDonald’s on Tuesday. He asked her for a McNugget and she refused.

The boy allegedly followed the girl into the 103rd St. No. 6-train station, pointed a gun at her head and demanded a McNugget again, police said. The girl smacked the gun away from her head and told the boy to leave her alone.

She boarded the train unharmed, police said. The girl later saw the boy showing the gun to another child on the train.

Police took the boy into custody on Wednesday after the girl reported the incident to school officials. [snip]

And where did all this take place? Why is the Gun Control heart of New York State. No one need be worried about things like this because, like Chicago, New York has solid gun laws, written by the Left to make sure you never face an armed criminal.

So even thought this is reported in the news, it has to go down the memory hole. It didn’t happen.

Here is an excellent reason to keep virtually no money in your back accounts particularly when traveling in Oklahoma.
This started with the “War on Drugs” but soon found favor with just about any perceived criminal activity. Small business deposits less than $10,000, you travel with $3000 cash because you don’t want to use plastic or maybe you can’t explain how you own such a nice car. You are arrested and your money is gone including money for bail.

OHP Uses New Device To Seize Money Used During The Commission Of A Crime

You may have heard of civil asset forfeiture.

That’s where police can seize your property and cash without first proving you committed a crime; without a warrant and without arresting you, as long as they suspect that your property is somehow tied to a crime.

Now, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol has a device that also allows them to seize money in your bank account or on prepaid cards.

It’s called an ERAD, or Electronic Recovery and Access to Data machine, and state police began using 16 of them last month.

Here’s how it works. If a trooper suspects you may have money tied to some type of crime, the highway patrol can scan any cards you have and seize the money.

“We’re gonna look for different factors in the way that you’re acting,” Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lt. John Vincent said. “We’re gonna look for if there’s a difference in your story. If there’s someway that we can prove that you’re falsifying information to us about your business.”

Troopers insist this isn’t just about seizing cash.

“I know that a lot of people are just going to focus on the seizing money. That’s a very small thing that’ s happening now. The largest part that we have found … the biggest benefit has been the identity theft,” Vincent said.

“If you can prove can prove that you have a legitimate reason to have that money it will be given back to you. And we’ve done that in the past,” Vincent said about any money seized.

State Sen. Kyle Loveless, R-Oklahoma City, said that removes due process and the belief that a suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty. He said we’ve already seen cases in Oklahoma where police are abusing the system.

“We’ve seen single mom’s stuff be taken, a cancer survivor his drugs taken, we saw a Christian band being taken. We’ve seen innocent people’s stuff being taken. We’ve seen where the money goes and how it’s been misspent,” Loveless said. [snip]

The Federal Government and the States have used civil asset forfeiture to enrich the coffers. The idea sounds good but like government programs they overreach by using a wide net.

When they grab all assets, they also grab any funds that could be used for legal needs and if the case is false, the money isn’t returned without litigation. The money to litigate that case is held by the powers that are prosecuting that individual.

Loveless plans to introduce legislation next session that would require a conviction before any assets could be seized.

“If I had to err on the side of one side versus the other, I would err on the side of the Constitution,” Loveless said. “And I think that’s what we need to do.”

Texas on record-setting pace for inappropriate teacher-student relationships

Reports of Texas teachers having inappropriate relationships with students are on track to beat last year’s record total.

The Texas Education Agency reports it has launched 162 investigations of reported inappropriate teacher-student relationships between Sept. 1 and May 31. The Amarillo Globe-News reports that the agency had 188 investigations last fiscal year, marking at least the fifth year of growth in a row.

The issue in Texas shot back into the national spotlight after it was revealed last week that former Houston-area teacher Alexandria Vera, 24, had been impregnated by a then-13-year-old former student.

Court documents allege she was introduced to his family as the boy’s girlfriend, and the woman said that his parents supported the relationship and invited her to family gatherings. She reportedly said she told a school district investigator the family was “very supportive and excited” when she disclosed her pregnancy. She allegedly said she and the boy “love each other.”

According to the probable cause document, she aborted the pregnancy after a child welfare investigator questioned her in February about the relationship, which she denied at the time. [snip]

“In the past, you might not have had students choosing to interact socially with a teacher. Now they’ll friend them on Facebook or they’ll reach out to them on Snapchat,” Kathy Tortoreo, director of crisis services at Family Support Services in Amarillo, told the Globe-News.

“The adult is supposed to understand the boundary, and the adult is supposed to uphold the boundary,” Tortoreo said. [snip]

The teachers are immature, incapable of making proper decisions and given what is going on in colleges today, we have little hope of getting adults to teach for quite some time.

Why Liberals Are So Obsessed With Racism, Homosexuality and Transsexualism

Conservatives care about logic. Liberals care about emotion. Conservatives care about whether a program works or not. Liberals care about how supporting a program makes them feel. Conservatives take the positions they do because they believe they’re best for society. Liberals take the positions they do because they make them feel and look compassionate or superior to hold those positions.

Once you understand those basics, it’s very easy to see why both sides hold the positions they do on most issues and to comprehend why there’s so little middle ground. Once you get the mentalities, you can predict where each side will come down on issues. [snip]

A program that cuts the deficit by cutting people off the welfare and disability rolls who don’t belong there in the first place? Conservatives will support it and liberals will oppose.

A program called “Puppies for Orphans” that hands out “therapy dogs” to poor children at $100,000 per year in cost? Liberals will support it and conservatives will oppose.

The problem with all of this is that most of what passes for “compassion” with liberals isn’t real compassion. There’s a cost to real compassion and thus, a limit to it. [snip]

Philippine president-elect urges public to kill drug dealers

The Philippine president-elect has encouraged the public to help him in his war against crime, urging citizens with guns to shoot and kill drug dealers who resist arrest and fight back in their neighborhoods.

In a nationally televised speech late Saturday, Rodrigo Duterte told a huge crowd in the southern city of Davao that Filipinos who help him battle crime will be rewarded.

“Please feel free to call us, the police, or do it yourself if you have the gun — you have my support,” Duterte said, warning of an extensive illegal drug trade that involves even the country’s police.

If a drug dealer resists arrest or refuses to be brought to a police station and threatens a citizen with a gun or a knife, “you can kill him,” Duterte said. “Shoot him and I’ll give you a medal.” [snip]

This program will prevent one thing for certain: Recidivism.

marijuana-leafWe suppose that we’re to be shocked, flummoxed and disconcerted over the news of the rise in drug overdose deaths. We might be if some one can or will show us videos, photos or some evidence of the drug users being forced to use said opioid by any individual holding a weapon to their heads. Yeah, putting a gun to their head and telling them smoke, snort, inject or die, even weed for that matter.

Drug Overdose Deaths Hit ‘Alarming’ New Record in U.S., CDC Says

Deaths from opioid drug overdoses have hit an all-time record in the U.S., rising 14 percent in just one year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Friday.
More than 47,000 people died from these drug overdoses last year, the CDC reported.

“These findings indicate that the opioid overdose epidemic is worsening,” the CDC’s Rose Rudd and colleagues wrote in their report.

“The increasing number of deaths from opioid overdose is alarming,” said CDC Director Dr. Tom Frieden. [snip]

The CDC report sees one clear trend.

Drug map

“The sharp increase in deaths involving synthetic opioids, other than methadone, in 2014 coincided with law enforcement reports of increased availability of illicitly manufactured fentanyl, a synthetic opioid; however, illicitly manufactured fentanyl cannot be distinguished from prescription fentanyl in death certificate data,” the report reads.

But deaths are on the rise from overdoses of all sorts of drugs, despite efforts to formulate them in ways that make the drugs more difficult to abuse.

“The United States is experiencing an epidemic of drug overdose (poisoning) deaths,” the CDC’s report reads.

“Since 2000, the rate of deaths from drug overdoses has increased 137 percent, including a 200 percent increase in the rate of overdose deaths involving opioids (opioid pain relievers and heroin).”

When one chooses to abuse drugs, that is a life choice. The old saw about making one’s bed and having to lie in it fits well.

If an individual takes that path, don’t look for taxpayers to provide succor later. You want off the drugs, quit. You will if you want to, otherwise you won’t. Anything else is BSing yourself and trying to do the same with others.

Your choices come down to QUIT OR DIE! That, buddy, is the bottom line, your bottom line. We didn’t tell you to take the crap, force you, or pay you to do so.

But we’re firm believers that if you commit crimes to support your habit, we should kill you; in the street, right there in the gutter. Let the DPW come pick up your carcass.
