The Answer to the Mental Fog of Progressive Gun Control

Watch, Listen and become Aware!
Actually every time you enter a Gun Free Zone,

YOU ARE AT RISK.

The Great Liberal Misnomer

It seems that the so-called ‘Gun Free Zones” are not gun free. Some miscreant invades that ‘sanctified’ zone with such a banned item, intent on visiting mayhem upon the unarmed. Then he obvious question is asked, “How do we prevent this?” The penultimate question should be, “How do we stop this?” which is different.

The answer to the latter is always we send in a gun(s) to terminate this activity. In security terms, this is called a reaction force and is always late and and bodies short. The former question’s answer is to have guns in place carries by individuals with permits and who are proficient in their use. While this may not prevent some deaths it does cut down on reaction time, limiting the number of victims and possibility preventing any injuries.

Two more items that go far in changing the landscape on these events. One is getting rid of the idiot concept of “Gun Free Zones”, they aren’t and just another Liberal bit of stupidity. Second is to stop the press conferences. Give a sheet to the press with basic data and stop giving publicity to the bozos who commit these acts. Let the press do what they do best; make up stories to fit their fantasy world. They are going to do that anyway.

Observations

This bill, if is passes the House and gets 60 votes in the Senate, will cause an uproar in several blue states such as New York, Maryland, Illinois, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts. There are others but these will have several litters of kittens.

Twenty-Three State Attorneys General Back National Concealed Carry Reciprocity

The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act is currently making its way through the House. It is expected to be voted out of Committee and onto the House floor. If passed, which would also require 60 votes in the Senate, the legislation will allow individuals to travel across state lines with their lawfully issued permits.

“This bill amends the federal criminal code to allow a qualified individual to carry a concealed handgun into or possess a concealed handgun in another state that allows individuals to carry concealed firearms,” a summary of the bill states. “A qualified individual must: (1) be eligible to possess, transport, or receive a firearm under federal law; (2) carry a valid photo identification document; and (3) carry a valid concealed carry permit issued by, or be eligible to carry a concealed firearm in, his or her state of residence.”

“Additionally, the bill specifies that a qualified individual who lawfully carries or possesses a concealed handgun in another state: (1) is not subject to the federal prohibition on possessing a firearm in a school zone, and (2) may carry or possess the concealed handgun in federally owned lands that are open to the public,” the summary continues.

The bill would prevent lawful citizens from being unfairly targeted by harsh gun laws in a number of states or inadvertently violating a patch work of different laws across the country as they travel.  [snip]

“The letter states that H.R. 38 is a much-needed solution to a problem facing gun owners and poses no threat to public safety. “The exercise of Congress’s power is particularly warranted in this case because too many states refuse to allow law-abiding visitors to carry concealed firearms,” Cox continued. “These states leave people without any real option for self-defense. Allowing concealed carry across state lines will not result in an increased risk of crime, as those states that have reciprocal concealed-carry agreements have not encountered any significant safety issues.”

The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act is expected to see a full floor vote this week.

All these holier than thou people either live in gated communities or have armed bodyguards. Just like Jimmy Kimmel says from his phalanx of armed bodyguards, “We need to ban guns.” Of course Jimmy, except for your protection.

Atlantic Editor: You’re A Bad Parent If You Own A Gun

[snip
] LAWRENCE O’DONNELL: The polling shows that most Americans agree with the congresswoman on this.

DAVID FRUM: Well, I wish that were true, but I think when you face the reality, it just isn’t. One of the things that we have seen over the past decade is a rising support among Americans for ever broader definitions of gun rights in exactly the way that Justice Burger warned us against. But that it where the country is.

And so it makes this — and this is a really painful thing to say — these technical fixes people look for, maybe if we had banned this implement or regulated that implement — there is something very wrong with the American gun culture. Three percent of the people own 50 percent of the weapons in this country — I mean, a tiny number of people and vast numbers of weapons.

Until you persuade people that it is just dangerous to themselves, to their children, you’re not a good parent if you have a gun in the house, you’re not protecting your family, you’re a bad parent if you have a gun in the house, until you drill that idea into people’s heads and persuade them to change the way we changed about cigarettes and seatbelts, these technical fixes aren’t going to accomplish a lot. And pubic opinion — you can make it look like it’s on your side if you ask the poll question the right way, but operationally it’s not.

Yeah, I’m sure that’s really going to go over well; telling Americans that they’re bad parents for exercising their constitutional right to own firearms. If anything, that will drive up sales. The firearm is an integral part of American culture and history. There is no escaping that, neither is the incessant push by liberals to blame the tens of millions (the overwhelming majority) of law-abiding American gun owners for the actions of criminals and insane people. Yet, the anti-gun Left keeps doing it, Americans still buy firearms in record numbers; Obama was a terrific salesman, and the Second Amendment stands strong.

Who knows, he might even have a carry permit for his own protection. The old “For Me, not for Thee” BS they much favor.

Day by Day

Daily Insanity

BLM in this case doesn’t stand for the Bureau of Land Management. Here it stands for another idiot Proggy group, Black Lives Matter.

NRA’s Colion Noir Has One Heck of a Message for Black Lives Matter

Dana Loesch had liberals curling up in the fetal position when she urged her fellow conservatives to “fight this violence of lies [referring to media bias and the Left’s prime choice of protest] with the clenched fist of truth” in an ad for the NRA. *Gasp.*

Ironically, Loesch, who was condemning violence and hateful, divisive rhetoric, was accused of inciting violence and declaring civil war. [snip]

Of course, liberals only want protect the First Amendment rights of those who share their opinions and fight for their cause. Anyone who disagrees with them or says something they don’t like should automatically be silenced, hence why the video’s narrator goes on to “demand” the NRA “immediately” remove its (constitutionally protected) ads.

Thankfully, NRA TV’s Colion Noir wasn’t about to let BLM get away with peddling these absurd claims about the Second Amendments rights organization.

In an episode of “Commentators,” Noir first calls out BLM for losing sight of its original mission and turning into “a weaponized, race-baiting machine, pushing the extreme liberal-Democratic agenda, calling everything and anything that doesn’t fit their agenda white supremacy.” [snip]

Laissez le bon temps rouler

People who don’t like guns, should remember that they are tools and serve those who use them properly.

Florida Woman Stops Alligator Attack Using a Small Beretta Pistol:

This is a story of self-control and marksmanship by a brave, cool-headed woman with a small pistol against a fierce predator. What’s the smallest caliber that you would trust to protect yourself?

Here’s her story in her own words: “While out walking along the edge of a pond just outside my house in The Villages with my soon to be ex-husband, discussing property settlement and other divorce issues, we were surprised by a huge 12-ft. alligator which suddenly emerged from the murky water and began charging us with its large jaws wide open. She must have been protecting her nest because she was extremely aggressive.

If I had not had my little Beretta .25 caliber pistol with me, I would not be here today!”

Daily Insanity

From the Loons on the Left, one should expect this form of mental deficiency and true to form, once more up pops the craziness over GUNS.

As with other wild arm waving and a collective attack of painful hair, there isn’t any basis in historical news events to substantiate their position. So much for rationality.

Mayhem, Murder and Madness

to Hit Kansas July 1st

If you believe the Left, Kansas is set to implode in a rage of violence and bloodshed starting July 1st when a provision put place by the legislature four years ago goes into effect.

According to Leftist fear mongers, this provision will squelch free speech on campuses everywhere. Students will be afraid to speak due to the threat of violence from fellow students. Teachers will fear giving someone a bad grade because of the sheer violence that will befall them. Professors will no longer find refuge in their offices and are being forced to change their office hours or become unavailable altogether – some have even sought refuge in other states. Others have decided to stop teaching and are seeking alternative pursuits like research. One or two have opted for retirement.

Dark days are ahead for Kansas.

What could bring on such fear?

In 2013, the Kansas legislature passed a law requiring that local municipalities and buildings owned by the state either have adequate security preventing the carrying of guns inside the property or require that citizens be allowed to carry concealed firearms on such properties. It’s a simple concept, either allow citizens to defend themselves, or provide adequate security. These properties were allowed an exemption from concealed carry for four years, giving them enough time to make plans for proper security measures to be installed. Yes, you read that right. They had four years.

Although there is no single place to go for definitive numbers, the grand total of those who have made public announcements about their leaving state universities because of the concealed carry law is around a half-dozen. An article from the Manhattan Mercury, where Kansas State University is located, listed three academic staff and one other employee. At Kansas University, Jacob Dornan made a big splash with his announcement in March. At Wichita State, Deborah Ballard-Reisch announced her resignation blaming concealed carry on campus. That’s a confirmed five out of around 5,800 academic staff in the six state universities – hardly a mass exodus, especially considering several were of retirement age anyway.

Concealed carry on college campuses is allowed in ten states, the longest standing being Utah where students have been allowed to carry since 2004. In thirteen years, there should be plenty of incidents where hostile students confronted others with guns, or situations where the presence of guns has squelched free speech. Or how (insert emotional argument here) has happened. One can search for hours to try and find such incidents and will find nothing of substance. No injuries, no blood in the streets, no students confronting teachers over a bad grade. Nothing. Interestingly enough, there were no mass shootings on campuses that allowed concealed carry either. Hmmmm.

Using the “logic” from the Left, it should be easy to find instances in Kansas where their claims have materialized. Since some municipalities chose not to participate in the exemption, many municipal buildings have allowed concealed carry holders inside state and county owned buildings for the past four years. In that time- frame, there should be plenty of instances where angry confrontational gun owners pointed their pistols at frantic clerks over a driver’s license issue or a property tax problem. Surely, one can find a multitude of instances where these hotheads took their guns out of holsters and threatened innocent government workers. Can you guess how many thousands of times this has happened? Hundreds? Scores? Dozens? A handful? Any? That’s right, zero is the number. At least this author couldn’t find one, if it did happen. [snip]

This is more proof that college doesn’t educate and enlighten, but merely indoctrinates. More mindless, moronic masses of Millennials on parade.
