Drums along the Potomac

Apologies to Walter D. Edmonds’s , “Drums Along the Mohawk” a historical drama film of made in 1939 starring Henry Fonda and Claudette Colbert.

With the arrows of misspeak in flight, Senator Squaw Warren has been stripped of her buckskins by the Cherokees themselves with this image.

The Senator offered this scathing retort by firing off this arrow of self-proclamation based on antediluvian ratiocination.

Cretins, Morons and Dolts

For this rat bastard, pick a name tag from the title for him. Or all of them fit for this bag of slime. He sits in the Senate hearings flinging the green goo at Kavanaugh. Talk about a walking pus sack.

Yeah, he ‘misspoke’. One of a number of slugs that dodged service but wants the glory earned by those who did serve. Doesn’t say much for the voters in the Nutmeg State to keep him in office either.

Fraudulent voting

Cleaning up the voters rolls would signal the end to the Progressive/Communist/socialist part of the Jackass Party. The following image explains why the Donkeys fear voter ID.

Observations

Snowflakes, you’re attending what is purported to be an institution of learning, obviously not higher, which should promote reasoning, logic and a predilection to learn from other’s experiences.

Please elaborate on how you can endorse Communism/Socialism when you can see first hand the finished product of that form of political idiocy, to wit: Venezuela

Venezuela’s Long Road to Ruin

Few countries have provided such a perfect example of socialist policies in practice.

Word from Caracas is that locals have taken to scouring city streets for plastic garbage bags full of rubbish and, when they find them, emptying the contents so that they can resell the bags.

This sounds absurd, but it is believable in a country where extreme poverty has spread like the plague. Human capital is fleeing. Oil production is plummeting, and the state-owned oil company is in default. The garbage bag, imported with dollars, is a thing of value.

If anything was more predictable than the mess created by Hugo Chávez’s Marxist Bolivarian Revolution, it is the pathetic effort by socialists to deny responsibility. The Socialist Party of Great Britain tweeted recently that Venezuela’s problem is that socialism has yet to be tried. It blamed the crisis on “a profit-driven capitalist economy under leftist state-control.” Even more preposterous is the claim by some academics that economic liberalism in the 1980s spawned the socialism that has destroyed the country.

Shopping in Caracas

Learning from history is impossible if the narrative is wrong. So let’s clear the record: By the time Chávez was elected, Venezuela already had 40 years of socialism under its belt and precious little, if any, experience with free markets. [snip]

When Venezuela promulgated its 1961 constitution, Betancourt immediately suspended Article 96, which read: “All can freely engage in the profitable activity of their choice, without any limitations other than those provided for in this Constitution and those established by law for security, health or other reasons of social interest.” [snip]

Rent control in Venezuela dates to 1939 but was not enforced by Pérez Jiménez. In August 1960 Betancourt revived it, passing a new rent-control law and prohibitions on eviction. Since then, “not one apartment rental building has been built,” writes Vladimir Chelminski in his 2017 book, “Venezuelan Society Checkmated.” The legendary slums that climb Caracas’s hillsides are a testament to this socialist stupidity. [snip]

Chávez was inaugurated in February 1999, in the midst of a recovery in oil prices and with the bolivar at 576 to the dollar. He tripled down on socialism, exacerbating a long history of destroying capital that would lead to today’s disaster.

According to the narrative Snowflakes believe, all the damage to the Country are caused by every and anything other than Socialism and it’s offshoots.

A perfect quote, from Robert Heinlein, fits well here.“A generation, which ignores history, has no past — and no future.”

Big Spenders

You voted them into office again and again. To thank you for those votes, they spent your tax dollars on more entitlements that no one paid into a single dime.To fund this extravagance, borrowed or stole every penny in the coffers and then raided supposedly sacrosanct monies held for your future.

You brought this upon yourselves.

Social Security Expected to Dip Into Its Reserves This Year

The Social Security program’s costs will exceed its income this year for the first time since 1982, forcing the program to dip into its nearly $3 trillion trust fund to cover benefits.

This is three years sooner than expected a year ago, partly due to lower economic growth projections, according to the latest annual report the trustees of Social Security and Medicare released Tuesday. The program’s income comes from tax revenue and interest from its trust fund.

The trust fund will be depleted in 2034 and Social Security will no longer be able to pay its full scheduled benefits unless Congress takes action to shore up the program’s finances. Without any changes, recipients then would receive only about three-quarters of their scheduled benefits from incoming tax revenues. [snip]

The Social Security program works by using payroll taxes paid by workers and employers to pay for retirees’ benefits. What is left over is invested in the trust fund. Interest earned is reinvested in the fund.

Over time, the trust fund has grown to nearly $3 trillion. But long-running demographic trends threaten its finances. Last year, there were 2.8 workers for every Social Security recipient, down from 3.3 in 2007.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said in a statement the Trump administration’s efforts to cut taxes, reduce regulatory burdens and overhaul trade agreements would boost economic growth and generate new money for the country’s two largest entitlement programs. [snip]

The tax cuts signed into law last year have slightly lowered Medicare and Social Security’s projected revenue over the next few years. Lower income-tax rates reduced projected revenue from the taxation of Social Security benefits. That means less money flowing into both programs because those revenues are transferred to the trust funds.

President Donald Trump’s decision to end a program offering young undocumented immigrants reprieve from deportation while allowing them to work also reduced anticipated tax revenue into the Social Security program, the report said.

Congress has debated ways of bolstering the programs’ finances, but hasn’t agreed on what to do.

Some of what is written in the above WSJ article is incorrect. It makes it sound like the tax cut, in part, is responsible .

Medicare and Social Security is funded by payroll taxes, not income tax. With the tax rate cut revenues fell very slightly. What is not clearly stated is the Congress makes up for spending folly by purloining money from the SS Trust Fund. Which is nothing more than paper legerdemain; LBJ opened up that ‘Lockbox’ to pay for the Vietnam War. The surplus touted by Congress exists only on paper.

If the Millennials believe that Socialism will provide for their future, they need to understand that the Government has no money except what it pilfers from one’s paycheck. When the Progressives promise to give all to everyone, they conveniently omit how they will pay for this largess.
One way is to stop giving SS and Medicare to non citizens. those would properly named illegals.

There is an election coming up. Care to make a change?

We thought they banned those!

Obviously some one didn’t get the memo that weapons of violence were banned in the UK some time ago. Actually some whole lotta people didn’t get or read that memo. And they need to get their act together with the protests about banning anything sharper than a spoon.

London murder rate is HIGHER than New York’s for the first time ever after TWELVE killings in just 19 days

London’s murder rate has overtaken New York City’s for the first time ever as the twelfth person has been killed in just 19 days.

February marked the first month in history books that London had more murders than the American city with a total of 15 homicides. Out of the 15 killed, nine were aged 30 or younger.

In March, there were 22 murders, which is likely to match if not beat out New York’s numbers.

The murder epidemic continued on Sunday when a man in his twenties was fatally stabbed after leaving a bar in Wandsworth, marking the 12th person to be murdered in London in 19 days. [snip]

According to a report by the Sunday Times, New York City’s murder statistics have decreased by 87 per cent since the 1990s.

Meanwhile, London’s rate has grown by nearly 40 per cent in just three years, not including deaths caused by terrorist attacks.

Although New York last year had nearly double the number of murders than London, experts are concerned the gap is steadily closing.

Officials are concerned about the uptick in fatal stabbings, fearing there is a dangerous surge in knife crime. [snip]

  1. Lyndon Davis, 18, the youngest to have been killed in March, was found suffering from a single stab wound in Chadwell Heath, east London on March 14.
  2. Joseph Williams-Torres, 20, was killed the same evening as he sat in a stationary car in Essex Close, Walthamstow.
  3. Russell Jones, 23, was ambushed outside shops near Ponders End station, in Enfield and stabbed and shot to death.
  4. Father-of-two Tyrone Silcott, 42, died from knife wounds on March 18 after a St Patrick’s Day party.
  5. Hersi Hersi, who lived as a trans woman called Naomi, was pronounced dead at the scene after being found with knife injuries at Heathrow Palace in Haslemere Avenue, Hounslow, at 10.50am on Sunday.
  6. On March 19, Balbir Johal, 48, died after being stabbed in Southall and the next day 41-year-old Jermaine Johnson died of knife wounds in Walthamstow.
  7. Romanian Beniamin Pieknyi, is believed to have jumped in to the fight in a bid to save his friend during the altercation at the Stratford Centre in east London on the 20th.
  8. The 20-year-old, who only arrived in Britain two months ago, died in his best friend’s arms after being chased and stabbed by a gang in the busy shopping centre.
  9. On March 25, 26-year-old Abraham Badru was gunned down in Hackney.
  10. The university graduate, who was murdered in Dalston, east London, on Sunday, was awarded the National Police Bravery Award in July 2009.
  11. David Potter, 50, was found stabbed to death in a property on Tooting High Street on Monday 26.
  12. And an unnamed 23-year-old in Greenwich was killed on Thursday night, the final murder for the month of March.

There is even a shooting or two in this mess; in the UK, guns are banned for all yet the criminals seems to have them as usual. Funny how that works.

So where is CNN or any of the Nutworks on this news? Guess it trashes their narrative about guns being the cause of violence.
